SHILLONG, AUG 12: Meghalaya home minister Roshan Warjri assured a delegation of the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) central body who had met her along with aggrieved candidates who had passed in the written test but were not shortlisted for the personal interviews to 6th MLP Battalion posts recently that she would take up the matter with the competent authority.
The candidates had come with their parents in tow to meet Warjir on Monday.
Around 1,000 candidates from Jaintia Hills region had cleared their written test at a recruitment rally but were not shortlisted for personal interview slated to be held on August 12.
Not satisfied with the clarification given by the police high-up, the candidates have demanded to put on hold the upcoming personal interview.
After meeting Warjri, HNYF publicity secretary Donbok Dkhar told reporters, “The home minister has assured us that she would take up the matter with the recruitment board asking them to rectify the mistake they committed.” – By Our Reporter
