Robbers apprehended

SHILLONG, AUG 4: The residents of Mawiong apprehended seven people for their involvement in a robbery case which took place on Saturday night.

Police informed that Elevenson Kharkongor and Rangdamut Khalmalki of Tynring village had reported to the Mawiong headman that a truck (AS-01DC 1965) had blocked their vehicle – a bolero (ML – 05E – 2185) in Mawiong and robbed them of Rs 700, one mobile handset and a car tape.

The incident happened at around 10 pm. The two victims were returning from Thangshalai village after dropping a friend who was sick.

The Mawiong residents conducted search and located the truck along with seven people. The driver of the truck identified as Hamles Kurbah Nongkliew, however, managed to escape.

The seven people were handed over to the police station for necessary action.-By Our Reporter
