SHILLONG, AUG 4: Acting swiftly, the East Khasi hills district administration has ordered an inquiry into the recent incident where Halorsing Kharumnuid was forced to eat dog’s droppings by his relatives as they suspected him of praticising witchcraft.
The shocking incident took place in Sohryngkham village on July 30.
A release issued on Sunday said that the additional district magistrate DM Wahlang has been entrusted with the task of carrying out the inquiry.
Wahlang has requested people who have any information or evidence about the incident may depose before him on August 6 at Sohryngkham Lower Primary and Upper Primary School from 10 am to 1 pm.
Or if any individuals wishes to depose in the office of the deputy commissioner in person may do that on August 7. People can also depose through an affidavit.
On Saturday the police had arrested seven persons in this regard. They have been remanded to five days police custody. – By Our Reporter
