SHILLONG, JULY 5: Eleven bands will slug it out live on stage out of the seventy-five entries to win the grand prize of Rs one lakh in the grand finale of the Meghalaya Icon-4 which will be held at Laban Sports ground on Saturday. The eleven bands will compete for the title of becoming the brand ambassador for spreading awareness on HIV/AIDS. The Meghalaya Icon 4 is running consecutively in its fourth year now and is expected to attract about 4000 people.
Dr E. Chyne, current project director of Meghalaya AIDS Control Society said, “We are happy to see this initiative getting stronger and bigger every year. We have been able to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS very strongly through this campaign and would like to thank the SoundTree, Lelangki and all those who have partnered with and supported us in making this happen.”
Red Ribbon Superstar Meghalaya Icon 4 2013 is an event that has been sponsored by Meghalaya AIDS Control Society to create awareness on HIV/AIDS using music as a platform. – By Our Reporter
