CSWO condemns assault

SHILLONG, APR 15: The CSWO has condemned the assaults on the two women at Langpih and demanded immediate arrest of those involved and also repatriation of influx from Langpih. In a release on Monday, the CSWO said the government should be held responsible for not being able to protect the tribal village people in the border areas, and immediate attention should be focused on the boundaries as delay seems to be intentional and time taking.

The release said, “People are to be protected and not be used as political baits by anyone as lives are precious. Borders should be well protected and people in the borders too need to be protected from influx.”

The CSWO was of the opinion that it should not be a problem for both states ruled by the same Congress party to come to an agreement to resolve the boundary issues. It said,  “Enough of political delays has resulted in  human rights being violated in the political games.” It felt that an inquiry should be constituted to find out the delay in resolving the boundary issues.

In the wake of continuous human right violations in the borders the CSWO urge the state government to take the issue of boundary dispute in Langpih seriously.- By Our Reporter
