SHILLONG, MAR 23: Union Secretary of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (M/OMSME) Madhav Lal recently met the Meghalaya chief secretary, WMS Pariat and reviewed the schemes under the ministry.
During the meeting, discussion revolved around enhancing the efficacy and awareness of the schemes such as Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), MSE-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), Skill Development initiative.
Both the central and state governments reaffirmed their commitment for implementing schemes under the MSME sector through soft and hard intervention.
While discussing the credit related bottleneck of the MSME sector from bank and other financial institutions, Lal informed Pariat about the credit guarantee trust fund of the union government , wherein government stands guarantee on behalf of small entrepreneurs for loans up to Rs one crore.
Lal further informed about the promotional role being played by institutions like Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), NSIC, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises – Development Institute which are functioning in the state of Meghalaya.
Lal assured the state government of the department’s cooperation from these institutions for the development of MSME’s and youths of Meghalaya.
Lal also directed the ministry’s officials located in Meghalaya to work in tandem with the state government officials for effective implementation of the schemes in the state.- By Our Reporter
