SHILLONG, FEB 27: Three persons including an eight month old bay were charred to death when a fire broke out late Tuesday night in Sohkomphor market under East Jaintia hills district.
The three who died are from the same family. Fire broke out from their residence located near the market. After sometime the fire turned into an uncontrollable inferno consuming as many fourteen shops within the market, official informed.
The deceased have been identified as Durka Lyngdoh (19), her 8 months baby boy and three-year-old niece Hasina Lyngdoh.
According to the officials the incident took place at around 10.30 pm Tuesday night.
The official said that the cause of fire is being investigated.
