SHILLONG, JAN 28: The Meghalaya cabinet on Monday approved Rs 150 crore corpus contingency funds to ensure that there is no disruption in the flow of fund to various departments when the Assembly is not in session.
Chief minister Mukul Sangma said the cabinet felt the need to raise the funds since the Assembly was not in session. “This will be regularized as soon as the Assembly sits,” he told reporters here after the cabinet meeting.
Many departments, he said, need access to funds to implement their programmes. “Available amount of Rs 105 crore corpus of contingency funds has already been provided to various departments including PHE, Power, MeECL and others,” the chief minister added. (By Our Reporter)
