CAU hosted AGRIVISION: students conclave at Umiam

The inaugural programme of the AGRIVISION : 1st Zonal Convention North-East Bharat was held on Friday at College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Umiam, Meghalaya under joint collaboration with Vidyathi Nidhi, CAU-Imphal, ICAR-NEH, AAU, Vidya Nidhi.  More than 600 participants witnessed the event. Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU-Imphal chaired this inaugural session, with chief guest Dr S.K. Singh, DDG-Horticulture, ICAR, New Delhi. Guest of Honour Dr. Bidyut C. Deka, VC, AAU, Jorhat, Assam, Shri. Govind Nayak, National joint Secretary, ABVP, Subham Singh Patel, National Convener AGRIVISION.

Dr. P. K. Pandey, organizing secretary AGRIVISION-2024, welcomed the gatherings while specifying the aims and objectives of this 2 days conclave. Dr S. K. Singh, congratulated the agrivision team members for this noble effort and specified the wide potential of diversed agro products. He urged that students should not be a job seeker and should be a job provider. Dr. Anupam Mishra, VC-CAU, emphasised on creating demands for specialised products and revisiting our old wisdoms to address various challenges and issues raised in the present agri and allied sectors. Dr Bidyut C. Deka, spoke about tailor made technologies need to be addressed for North Eastern agricultural sector for self reliance and also advocate the electronic marketing products and grooming of agro entrepreneurs. Shri. Govind Nayak, Special Guest of the conclave spoke that the aim of Akila Bharathi Vidyarthi Parishath is to develop our students to be a good citizen of India with a slogan of “Students are the citizens of today not tomorrow” and narrated various activities undertaken by ABVP at national level. The inaugural session was over with the vote of thanks by Dr. Jeti Konsam, State Incharge, Agrivision.
