Prof.Anisur Rahman gave a meaningful insight on The NEP 2020 and highlighted its five guiding pillars namely, Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability.
The policy is a significant step towards transforming the Indian education system into a major reform and revitalization of education. It also aims for quality education to all, promoting technology & innovation. To make education more oriented. Quality and excellency of education is a very serious issue where quality of teachers and accountability of education needs to be improved. Higher education in our state should be a multidisciplinary research institution to make education more flexible to be at par with the top higher level institutions as a whole.
For implementation of the policy, no doubt challenges are there. It should be termed in a positive direction so as to translate education into a human resource which would be great assets to the nation. Collaboration with other Universities is to be maintained.
To put aside the limitations with the determination of labor and hard work where teachers should come forward to achieve Research mobilization within the universities of India, system learners oriented and digital learning oriented. Seminars and workshops should be organized to make the classroom more effective for the students.
He spoke on ranking of universities, quality education, GER target by 2035, increase of funding for education, learner centric education, digital learning, internationalization of higher education, motivated faculty, commercialization of education, innovative teaching learning, inclusive education.
Multidisciplinary institutions are a big challenge for a standalone institution. The mobility of the students may affect the studies of the students. A change in the curriculum is needed before accepting the policy.
Imminent scholars would be suggested to train all the teachers to overcome the hiccups and challenges for making NEP 2020 a success.
The program was attended by faculties of NEHU/ affiliated colleges and the students from various departments.
