SHILLONG, JUNE 27: Leaders of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the former chief minister Dr DD Lapang.
The visit by the KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem, chairman Lamphrang Blah and deputy chairman Charles Marngar was made after the celebration of the 71st District Council Day.
“The courtesy visit was made as a mark of respect to his (Lapang) contributions to the state when he was chief minister. He was also instrumental on how to promote the welfare of the district council,” Syiem said.
The CEM also extended his best wishes to the veteran political leader.
Lapang thanked the delegation for remembering him and wished the new EC the very best.
