Meghalaya at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here. The oath to office and

Chauhan is a former BJP leader and a six-time MLA from Uttar Pradesh. He was an active politician before becoming the Governor.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Chauhan contested from Ghosi as a BJP candidate and defeated close BSP candidate Abbas Ansari.
In fact, he won the seat six times, representing different parties.
