Minor reshuffle in state bureaucracy

SHILLONG, SEP 28: The state government has affected a minor reshuffle among the bureaucrats.

 

In a notification issued on Tuesday, Dr Shakil P Ahammed has been relieved of his function as Principal Secretary in-charge Power department. He will continue to function as Principal Secretary in-charge Fisheries.

 

R Lyngdoh, Commissioner & Secretary in-charge Personnel & AR has been relieved from Revenue & Disaster Management department but she will continue to hold charge of Public Works department (Buildings) until further orders.

 

On return from inter-state deputation, Sanjay Goyal  has been posted as Commissioner & Secretary  in-charge Revenue & Disaster Management with effect from date of taking charge and until further orders.

 

Goyal will also function as Chairman, Board of Revenue.

 

Further, the services of the officer are partially placed at the disposal of Power department for appointment as chairman-cum managing director of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) and its three subsidiaries viz Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Limited (MePGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Limited (MePTCL) and Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL).

 

RM Kurbah, Secretary in-charge Health & Family Welfare will also function as Director, School Education & Literacy. Further, the services of the officer are partially placed at the disposal of the education department for appointment as State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

 

Ambrose CH Marak, Secretary in-charge of the education department has been relieved as Director, School Education & Literacy. His services are partially placed at the disposal of the education department for appointment as chairman of Meghalaya Board of School Education.
