CM flags off ambulance

SHILLONG, JUNE 14: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday flagged off an ambulance under CMDSF at a function that was held at St John’s White Hall, Dum Dum, Nongthymmai. The function was also attended by East Shillong MLA, Ampareen Lyngdoh, MDC, Nongthymmai, Latiplang Kharkongor, MDC, Laitumkhrah-Malki, Fantin Joseph Lakadong and former MLA, Nongthymmai, Jemino Mawthoh.

Speaking during the occasion, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, said that extending support by providing ambulances to different localities is an effort of the government to ensure that small but significant services are given in the Health care sector. “The pandemic was unprecedented and challenges faced during the last two years were huge both for the government and the society but we were able to overcome the difficult times because of the active participation and cooperation of the community,” he said. He hoped that the ambulance will be able to save precious lives the days to come and urged the community to take care of the asset with a sense of ownership and responsibility.
“The government has been very focussed on ensuring that the social sectors are crucial and steps have been taken to ensure that goals are met by shifting from the scheme based approach to mission mode approach,” he said. He further added that constant monitoring and accountability and course correction where required are essential to good governance.
Earlier, MLA Laitumkhrah, Dr Ampareen M Lyngdoh, urged the locality of Dum Dum to adopt good practises that will nurture, maintain and ensure that the ambulance will serve the people with love, compassion and commitment.
The Chief Minister also unveiled the roadmap of Dum Dum locality during the event. The flagging off was also attended by Dorbar members, Dum Dum locality and the Managing Committee of the school.
