SHILLONG, NOV 22: The state on Monday recorded 28 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 296.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 22 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills, 2 West Jaintia Hills, 2 Ri Bhoi, 1 West Khasi Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 12 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 8 are from East Khasi Hills, 3 West Garo Hills and 1 Ri Bhoi.
He said the state has registered zero COVID-19 deaths during the past 24 hours.
So far, the state has detected a total of 84,269 COVID-19 cases out of which 296 are active cases, 82,506 recovered and 1,467 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest active COVID-19 cases with 216 followed by East Garo Hills 20 and West Garo Hills 16.
There are 14 cases each in West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi, 12 West Jaintia Hills and 4 East Jaintia Hills.
At least three districts – South Garo Hills, South west Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills – have registered zero cases during the past 24 hours.
