State records 13 new COVID cases

SHILLONG, OCT 25: The state on Monday reported no new COVID-19 death in 24 hours and the total number of deaths stood at 1,446 in the state.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the state has detected 13 new COVID-19 cases. These include 8 in East Khasi Hills, 2 West Jaintia Hills and 1 each in Ri Bhoi, South West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 65 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 45 are from East Khasi Hills, 10 West Khasi Hills, 3 each in West Jaintia Hills and West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 1 Ri Bhoi and 1 South West Khasi Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 83,384 COVID-19 cases out of which 587 are active cases, 81,351 recovered and 1,446 deaths.

 

With 364 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 111 cases and West Jaintia Hills 49.

 

There are 33 in Ri Bhoi, 12 West Garo Hills, 7 East Garo Hills,  3 East Jaintia Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills, 3 South West Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills, and 2 South Garo Hills.
