SHILLONG, OCT 5: The state on Tuesday recorded one more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,409 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the case was reported from West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 96 new COVID-19 cases. These includes, 64 in East Khasi Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills, 7 West Jaintia Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi, 3 East Garo Hills, 2 West Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills and 1 South West Khasi Hills.
Dr War also informed that 216 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 136 are from East Khasi Hills, 26 West Khasi Hills, 21 West Jaintia Hills, 20 Ri Bhoi, 6 West Garo Hills, 4 South West Khasi Hills, 1 each in East Jaintia Hills, South West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 81,955 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,373 are active cases, 79,173 recovered and 1,409 deaths.
With 767 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 306 cases and West Jaintia Hills 153.
There are 72 in Ri Bhoi, 21 South West Khasi Hills, 20 West Garo Hills, 15 East Jaintia Hills, 9 East Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
