COVID-19: 264 new cases, 4 deaths

SHILLONG, SEPT 1: The state on Wednesday recorded 4 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,315 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 2 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from Ri Bhoi district and West Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 264 new COVID-19 cases.

 

These include 156 in East Khasi Hills, 50 West Khasi Hills, 9 West Garo Hills, 25 Ri Bhoi, 8 West Jaintia Hills, 5 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 5 South West Khasi Hills and 0 South West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 323 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 136 East Khasi Hills, 11 West Garo Hills, 22 West Jaintia Hills, 51 West Khasi Hills, 0 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills, 1 East Jaintia Hills, 94 Ri Bhoi and 4 South West Khasi Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 76,100 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,263 are active cases, 72,522 recovered and 1,315 deaths.

 

With 1,230 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 252 and West Khasi Hills with 307 cases.

 

There are 183 in West Jaintia Hills, 85 West Garo Hills, 103 South West Khasi Hills, 43 East Jaintia Hills, 9 North Garo Hills, 22 East Garo Hills, 19 South West Garo Hills and 10 South Garo Hills.
