SHILLONG, JUL 13: The state on Tuesday recorded five COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 918 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 4 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Jaintia Hills district.
He said the state also detected 365 new cases. These include 80 in East Khasi Hills, 56 Ri Bhoi, 61 West Garo Hills, 53 West Jaintia Hills, 21 North Garo Hills, 15 South Garo Hills, 15 East Garo Hills, 12 West Khasi Hills, 13 East Jaintia Hills and 17 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 506 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 293 are from East Khasi Hills, 53 Ri Bhoi, 49 West Garo Hills, 19 West Jaintia Hills, 22 North Garo Hills, 17 West Khasi Hills, 4 South West Khasi Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 19 East Jaintia Hills, 17 South Garo Hills and 7 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 55,218 COVID-19 cases out of which 3,964 are active cases, 50,336 recovered and 918 deaths.
With 1,087 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 790 cases and West Garo Hills with 622 cases.
There are 544 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 239 West Khasi Hills, 162 North Garo Hills, 122 East Garo Hills, 109 East Jaintia Hills, 96 South Garo Hills, 116 South West Khasi Hills and 77South West Garo Hills.
