SHILLONG, JUL 7: The state on Wednesday recorded six COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 886.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 4 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from West Jaintia Hills district and North Garo Hills district.
He said the state also detected 354 new cases. These include 161 in East Khasi Hills, 73 West Garo Hills, 27 West Khasi Hills, 21 West Jaintia Hills, 15 East Jaintia Hills, 12 Ri Bhoi, 12 East Garo Hills, 9 North Garo Hills, 9 South West Khasi Hills, 8 South Garo Hills and 7 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 424 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 160 are from East Khasi Hills, 80 West Jaintia Hills, 57 Ri Bhoi, 35 West Garo Hills, 23 East Garo Hills, 21 North Garo Hills, 14 West Khasi Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills, 11 East Jaintia Hills, 6 South West Khasi Hills and 4 South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 52,712 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,229 are active cases, 47,597 recovered and 886 deaths.
With 1,436 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 856 cases and West Garo Hills with 505 cases.
There are 475 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 210 North Garo Hills, 207 West Khasi Hills, 136 East Garo Hills, 136 South West Khasi Hills, 101 East Jaintia Hills, 94 South Garo Hills and 73 South West Garo Hills.
