SHILLONG, DEC 1: The District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, Tura has promulgated an Order under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting any collection of money, donations, contributions or subscriptions in any manner from individuals, shopkeepers, market places, plying of vehicles, etc by any individual(s) or group of person(s) or member of association(s) and unions whether registered or otherwise.
The order strictly prohibits giving donations or fees or contributions to such group or individuals under any circumstances. Therefore, in order to prevent any breach of peace or public tranquillity and also to stop such illegal and unauthorized collection of donation in any manner, the order was necessary, the District Magistrate stated.
This order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders and extend to the entire West Garo Hills district.
