SHILLONG, NOV 30: Seventy more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, taking the total cases to 11,810 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases include 53 from East Khasi Hills district, 4 West Garo Hills district, 4 East Jaintia Hills district, 4 West Khasi Hills district and 1 South Garo Hills district.
Those tested positive also include 2 health workers, 2 armed forces/paramilitary forces personnel and 13 returnees from East Khasi Hills.
Of the 75 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said 52 are from East Khasi Hills, 12 South Garo Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi and 1 East Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 11,810 COVID-19 cases out of which 763 are active cases, 10,936 recovered and 111 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.93 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 404 positive cases, West Garo Hills 205, South Garo Hills 39, Ri Bhoi 34, South West Garo Hills 22, West Jaintia Hills 17, East Garo Hills 13, East Jaintia Hills 12, West Khasi Hills 10 and North Garo Hills 7.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,41,631 persons have been tested of which 2,29,821 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 65,218 entrants from outside the state.
