SHILLONG, NOV 27: Fifty-two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, taking the total cases to 11,488 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases include 34 from East Khasi Hills district, 10 West Garo Hills district, 5 South West Garo Hills district, 2 East Garo Hills district and 1 Ri Bhoi district.
Those tested positive also include 4 health workers that include 3 from West Garo Hills and 1 from East Khasi Hills, and 2 armed forces/paramilitary forces personnel from East Khasi Hills.
Of the 82 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said 46 are from East Khasi Hills, 14 West Garo Hills, 7 East Garo Hills, 7 East Jaintia Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 1 Ri Bhoi and 1 South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 11,633 COVID-19 cases out of which 917 are active cases, 10,606 recovered and 110 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.94 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 454 positive cases, West Garo Hills 254, South Garo Hills 49, South West Garo Hills 39, East Garo Hills 27, Ri Bhoi 33, West Khasi Hills 28, East Jaintia Hills 10, West Jaintia Hills 15 and North Garo Hills 8.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,37,388 persons have been tested of which 2,25,755 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 63,763 entrants from outside the state.
