SHILLONG, APRIL 26: The Centre has sanctioned 301 posts of nurses for the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute for Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
This was informed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (NE Section) following a memorandum submitted by the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Meghalaya State president Jamil Ahmed to the Union Minister J P Nadda on August last year.
Under Secretary to the Government of India CS Bahuguna in his letter to Ahmed on April 22 informed that in the first phase 301 posts of nurses have been created with the concurrence of Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure in NEIGRIHMS.
Bahuguna said in the second and third phases, 151 posts in each phase are being projected for creation during 2019-2020. “In addition 204 posts have been kept for future projection,” he added.
On the demand to give preference to candidates from Meghalaya, he said the institute has followed the model roster of reservation to the posts for direct recruitment on all India basis by open competition.
Representation of each of the reserved category – SC, ST, OBC EWS and UR is as per the model roster, Bahuguna said while adding that “eligible candidates of the state of Meghalaya can apply as and when the advertisement is published in the newspapers through DAVP and uploaded in the institute’s website.”
