Cycle rally held in Tura

SHILLONG, MAR 22: A cycle rally was organised as part of the concluding function of the month long observation of Poshan Pakwara in the district of West Garo Hills which was held by organising various programmes for women and children. The cycle rally started from Chandmary Playground to Dakopgre, Tura today morning. The programme was organised by District Programme Officer, ICDS Cell, Tura in collaboration with Health and Family Welfare Department, Tura.

The programme aims to create awareness on nutrition and adolescent health among children and women in the district. Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills, Ram Singh, DPO, ICDS Cell, Tura, H Ch Sangma, District Sports Officer, officials and staff of concerned department, enthusiast cyclist of the town attended the programme.

The winners of the Cycle Rally are Chigado Ch Marak, Kenrich M Sangma, Grebiel G Momin and Nehemish A Sangma bagging the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place respectively from Children category while Kyle Ch Sangma and Wegado M Sangma bagged the 1^st and 2^nd position in the Adult category. The Deputy Commissioner, WGH Ram Singh distributed the token gift to the winners of both the category.
