SHILLONG, MAR 4: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 111 crore as special assistant grant to the three autonomous district councils of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills region in the state.
Informing this here on Monday, outgoing KHADC chief Hispreaching Son Shylla told reporters that the amount released was for the financial year 2018-2019.
“Of Rs 111 crore, the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) alone is likely to get Rs 52 crore,” Shylla said.
According to him, some of the amount will be go to the development of the council assets while the other will be implemented as MDC schemes.
