SHILLONG, JAN 23: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday inaugurated a newly constructed Police Reserve Complex at Baghmara in South Garo Hills District .
Addressing on the occasion, Sangma said socio economic development is the mantra to ensure long lasting development.
He said it is indeed a historic moment as the inauguration of new police reserve would be the added facility to the South Garo Hills District Police.
The chief minister hoped that with more such facilities given to the police they will be able to render their services in a better way.
Stating that South Garo Hills District is one of the maximum revenue generation to the State, he however said but the district has not been able to get back the maximum benefits from the state.
He further assured to extend support and developmental activities to the district in the near future.
He also informed that out of all the north eastern states Meghalaya received maximum centrally sponsored schemes and previously eleven Eklavya Residential Model School has been sanctioned and in South Garo Hills District also at Mahadeo area.
On the same day a productive review meeting was also been held with all the departmental heads of South Garo Hills District where all the departmental issues and developmental activities has been highighted and projected .
The chief minister also paid a visit to the Civil Hospital of Baghmara and noted the various problems and issues that has been laying unsolved since a long time.
He was accompanied by Baghmara MLA Samuel M Sangma, Rongara Siju MLA Rakkam A Sangma, MDCs Sengnal N Sangma and Augustine R Marak, Y.Tsering Chief Secretary and Rebeca V Suchiang Addl Chief Secretary, Director General of Police R Rajamarthan and DIG western range O Pasi.
