The other candidates are Macdalyn Sawkmie Mawlong from Umsning, Melamshwa Rynjah – Nongkrem and Fedrick Joplang Lynshiang – Laban-Mawprem.
Speaking after the meeting, PDF chief Ivanlumlang Marbaniang, who is also the chairman of the CEC, informed that the party would also soon release the second list for the KHADC elections.
With regards to the elections to the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Marbaniang said as part of strengthening the party in Jaintia Hills region, zonal committees have been formed recently.
He added the selection process of candidates who will be contesting for the JHADC elections is nearly completed and very soon the party will also release its first list.
The PDF, which is supporting the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government, is having four MLAs in the 60-member Legislative Assembly besides 6 MDCs in the KHADC.
Initially when it was formed about a year ago, the party was having 12 MDCs who earlier belonged to different political parties but this number later reduced due to shifting of allegiance by the members in the absent of anti-defection law in the Council.
