SHILLONG, DEC 10: The state government will have to shell out a whopping of Rs 58.5 crore for implementation of the 7thCentral Pay Commission to over 700 college teachers in the state.
After the meeting chaired by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma here on Monday, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the Cabinet has approved proposal of the education department for implementing the 7th Central Pay Commission.
He said of 717 lecturers, 112 are those teaching in government colleges while 605 in deficit colleges.
“The total expenditure for this is Rs 58,5,69,940 and it will be implemented with effect from January 1, 2016,” Tynsong informed.
