SHILLONG, OCT 24:“The Dunes of West Khasi Hills are so beautiful and resembles the one in Switzerland” said the Governor of Meghalaya Tathagata Roy who really felt in- love with the beauty scenario and landscape of West Khasi Hills in particular and Meghalaya in general. The Governor expresses his feelings while meeting the District Administration at the Conference Hall D C office today which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, T. Lyngwa.
The Governor shared with the gathering on his close association with the State especially Shillong where he often visited during his childhood days. He said that the objective of the visit is to get acquainted with the rich cultural tradition of the state. Seeing the tourism potential of the District, the Governor stressed upon the need to promote and develop rural tourism which can create employment opportunities.
