SHILLONG, AUG 11: The Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE) under the stewardship of the Governor’s Secretariat, Shillong recently organized a half day interactive session with local restaurateurs and hotel owners.
This also resulted in the formulation and conduct of a training programme for 28 chefs and bakers of 15 local hotels, resorts, cafes and bakeries in the preparation of various dishes from jackfruit which was organized by the MIE and imparted by the Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Mawdiangdiang from the August 9 – 11.
The training culminated in a display and tasting event of jackfruit themed dishes prepared by these chefs on Saturday, in the Pinewood Hotel, Shillong and anchored by the Directorate of Food Processing, in which the best dishes, selected by an eminent panel of tasters were suitably recognized.
