Revision of fares

SHILLONG, AUG 1: Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Transport Department has directed the STA/RTA to revise the fares inclusive passenger tax and freights for journey by Mini Bus- State Carriage (other than by city bus/mini bus in Shillong) or contract carriage with immediate effect.

            Enhancement at the rate of 40%. Rs.105 paise per passenger per km (for maximum fare for contract carriage/stage carriage and Mini Bus). Rs.0.60 paise per quintal per km (Personal effect and below 14 kgs). Half the rate below 12 (twelve) years. Rs.0.70 paise per quintal per km (food stuff and forest product), Rs.175 paise per quital per km (furniture) and while calculating the distance fraction of Km shall be taken as 1 km.
