SHILLONG, APR 11: Chief Minister Conrad Kongal Sangma today said the state police will coordinate and make all efforts to help in the investigation by Delhi police into the recent murder case of a girl from Ri Bhoi district in New Delhi.
Replying to the zero hour notice moved by Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem in the Assembly on Wednesday, Sangma said a case has been registered at Vasant Vihar Police Station, New Delhi and investigation has been taken up the police which is in progress.
“The Ri Bhoi police is in contact with the Delhi police for getting updates on the status of the case and has offered full cooperation on the same,” he said.
It may be mentioned here 22-year-old Wandalin Kongor, a resident of Purdua Kharpati, Ri Bhoi district, who was working in a call centre at New Delhi, was found dead in her residence at Munirka, New Delhi on March 28. She was staying in a rented house belonging to one Anil Verma.
The CM said one police officer from District Executive Force (DEF) was deputed to accompany the relatives of the deceased to New Delhi on March 29.
However, due to the highly decomposed state of dead body, the last rites was performed at Delhi by the relatives of the deceased, he said.
