SHILLONG, MAR 8: PWD Minister Prestone Tynsong today said the government’s priority is to ensure that good all weather road is provided to each and every villages in the state.
“PWD sector is one of the important sectors where we have to attend to atleast ensure good all weather road is provided to each and every villages in the entire state. That is our priority,” Tynsong told journalists after taking charge as minister on Thursday.
He said that the government’s priority is to ensure that change is taken place and the starting point should be from the rural area of the state.
“I am sure that once that is done you will see change happen right from the village level upto the urban level,” he said.
Asked, Tynsong, also senior-most minister in the Conrad-led cabinet, said that the challenges faced by the department is financial constrain.
“But I am sure central government will also bail us out on few important sectors and within the next financial year you will be able to see the results of this sector where we already kept it as priority,” he stated.
Earlier, former HSPDP president Ardent M Basaiawmoit had accused the MDA partner – United Democratic Party (UDP) for opposing the idea of making Tynsong as the chief minister of the state.
Asked, Tynsong while refusing to comment on this however said in politics, situation is important as nobody knows what will happen tomorrow.
“That is why I tell you in politics it is very unpredictable we cannot say anything as it depends on the situation and we have to accept the reality,” he said.
Whether it is a golden opportunity for him to become chief minister, the senior NPP leader however said if God sees him to be chief minister nobody can stop it, but if God doesn’t, even if his well wishers want him to be CM, it will never happen.
