SHILLONG, AUG 17: The family of an air hostess who died in Kolkata is yet to react over her mysterious death even as police have registered a case of “unnatural death.”
The body of Clara Bansharai Khongsit (23) arrived in her residence at Lumparing at around 7 pm today, East Khasi Hills District SP Davis NR Marak said.
He said that the police in Kolkata have registered a case of unnatural death with regards to the incident. Asked, the SP said they are yet to know about the next step to be taken by the family.
However when media persons who were waiting at Clara’s residence sought to know on the family stand with regards to the incident, her brother, Anthony Khongsit said, “We (family) are not in a position to say anything now.”
Anthony, who returned from Kolkata with the body, also requested media persons to bear with the family at this moment of grief.
Though a case of unnatural death has been registered, however it was yet to be known if the family has any suspicion of foul play over Clara’s death.
Clara, who worked as flight attendant with IndiGo, died after she mysteriously fell from a window, which was without a grille, of the apartment in a four-storey building at Prafulla Kanan.
She was found lying in a pool of blood with serious head and body injuries near the apartment on Wednesday. Her body was first noticed by passerby early morning who immediately informed the police.
According to the Kolkata police, Clara fell from the third floor of the apartment building near Kestopur where she lived.
