Kohli slams Congress

SHILLONG, JULY 22: BJP national spokesman Nalin Kohli today said that the people who are creating false propaganda against his party in Meghalaya is due to fear of politics of development.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a party meeting held here on Saturday, Kohli said, “We only see that people are creating false propaganda against the BJP because they fear that the politics of development will be more preferred by the people of Meghalaya rather than the politics of corruption or politics with no development.

Stating that BJP are winning elections after elections because it is doing well, he said, “Those who believe in development are not going to be misled by the false and lies being spread in the social media and otherwise by the dirty tricks department of the Congress party.”

Kohli said that as he had maintained earlier he would be meeting the people including the Christian community next month to clear the air on any misconceptions against the party.

“We believe in Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas. We do not distinguish between a Hindu Muslim, Christian, Buddhist Parsi Jew and any community,” he said adding “We believe should go to the poorest to the poor. The middle should get the benefit of development to increase and improve their life and those who can set up industry must also play a role to give more employment.”

Meanwhile, the BJP leader also lambasted at the ruling Congress led state government for its alleged failure to provide good connectivity. This came after he was stuck in a traffic jam for three hours at Umiam while coming to the city for chairing the party meeting.

“One needs three hours from Barapani to hit Shillong city in a car. What will development come to Meghalaya? Highways are built across in states which are ruled by the BJP or not ruled by the Congress,” he said.

According to him, people in the state are still suffering from connectivity.
