SHILLONG, APR 27: BSNL executives under the banner of the Sanchar Nigam Executive Association (SNEA) today staged a mass casual leave after talks with the department of telecom (DOT) failed as they threatens to intensify their agitation.
In a statement issued here, SNEA Secretary Sushil Tripathi said the joint forum leader of central headquarter along with Director HR, CMD BSNL had met the DOT additional secretary.
“Our leaders had expressed strong protest against the degradation of pay scale of JTO/JAO ,SDE/AO and non finalization BSNL promotion policy for the last four years till DE Level,” he said.
He alleged that due to the biased policy of DOT the prospect of thousands of Executive of BSNL as well functioning of BSNL are at stake.
According to him, the grass root cadre of executives are running telecom services in the remotest areas which include Naxalites area, toughest terrain and even at the time of natural calamities.
He informed that the leaders are also seeking the immediate intervention of the Minister of Communication to end this present deadlock.
“We also appeal to the DOT specially the additional secretary not to be biased with BSNL and give level playing field to the BSNL in telecom sector and motivate the executives to deliver best to the people and PM’s dream of a digital India,” Sushil said.
