Miz Guv in NEC

SHILLONG, APR 3: Mizoram Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Nirbhay Sharma visited the North Eastern Council (NEC) secretariat today where he interacted with officials.

He interacted with Council Member C.K. Das, Secretary Ram Muivah and other officers on the role of NEC in the overall development of the North Eastern Region.

Muivah briefed the Governor on the various initiatives undertaken by NEC. In a power point presentation the Governor was apprised of NEC’s various efforts and projects funded by it.

In his remarks, the Governor emphasized on NEC’s specific roles for development of North Eastern Region in a need based approach. He also focused on issues like Disaster Management, Health and Livelihood in which NEC has a bigger stake.

The meeting was attended by C.H. Kharshiing, Planning Adviser, Shri G. K. Chin, Financial Adviser, D. Khound, Economic Adviser, NEC, Dr. S. Choudhury, MD, NERCORMP and other senior officers of NEC besides the Deputy Resident Commissioner of Govt. of Mizoram.
