SHILLONG, JAN 19: During the celebration of the statehood day the prestigious Meghalaya Day Awards were announced and the recepients will receive the awards on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26. The U Tirot Sing Syiem Award for Arts and Culture goes to Sumar Sing Sawian, while the Pa Togan Sangma Award for Social Services was bestowed on Leander K Marak. Dolyne Kharbhih, who became only the second woman from Meghalaya to scale Mount Everest and was conferred with the U Kiang Nangbah Award for Sports.
As part of the celebration Meghalaya Day celebration , Kayakalp Awards were also being given to two district hospitals and 4 CHCs of the State to acknowledge the outstanding health related services and discharge of duties.
The Awards goes to Civil Hospital, Tura and Civil Hospital, Williamnagar, Chokpot CHC, Bhoirymbong CHC, Laskein CHC and Khliehriat CHC.
To ensure easy access to various services, E-district services and 5 Mobile Apps were also launched on Meghalaya Day celebration at U Soso Tham auditorium by Meghalaya deputy chief minister RC Laloo.
Laloo distributed the Meghalaya Day Excellence Awards-2016. The recipients included Tomlin S Sangma of Land Records & Survey Department, George S Sawian of Fisheries Department, Thesus K Marak of Sports & Youth Affairs, Kordorlin Khongriah of Power Department, Ioana Jala Kharbhih of Forests & Environment Department, Pagarson R Marak of Gasuapara C & RD Block.
Ritina Blah of DC’s office East Khasi Hills District, Janailin Lyngdoh of DC’s office, Ri Bhoi District, Bloomingson Sanglyne of Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Persarabasuk Marbaniang of Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Barnette Diengdoh of Secretariat Admn. (N) Department, Hari Nayak of Tourist Information Centre, Kolkata, Government of Meghalaya, Armstrong D Marak of Cabinet Affairs Department, Ailinda Mawlong of Secretariat Admn (E) Department and Drostina Lyngdoh Nonglait of Personnel & AR (B) Department.
