2-year-old raped

TURA, OCT 24: A two-year-old raped by a 14-year-old undergoing treatment at a hospital in Williamnagar in East Garo Hills is said to be recuperating. The child was raped on Saturday by the youth, who is presently at the observation centre. The child was raped, when the victim’s parent had gone to attend a funeral of a relative.

The youth was asked by the parent to take care of the child, whom they later found was critical, after returning from the funeral.

Superintendent of police East Garo Hills Davies Marak said, “The parent had called us after they discovered that their baby was raped. We immediately took the child to the hospital and handed over the accused to the district child protection officer”.-From Our Correspondent
