SHILLONG, OCT 5: In a major seizure, the patrolling squad of the Divisional Forest Officer, Khasi Hills (Territorial) Division Shillong seized six trucks carrying illegal charcoal from Umran and Umraleng on Wednesday. The 3 trucks which were seized from Umraleng were abandoned trucks and the other 3 trucks were hidden in forest areas near Umran. The trucks and charcoal were seized for violating the Meghalaya Charcoal Rules, 2008 and Supreme Court order.-By Our Reporter

Forest officials always seized trucks with charcoal/firewood/timber. But the same forest officials fail to check their own Corruption. Where has the forest officials utilized the fund sanctioned to them by the Government? Buying costly private vehicles and Constructing big big building for themselves????
