SHILLONG, JULY 20: Two employees of Hotel Pegasus Crown located on Police Bazaar were arrested for alleged involvement in assaulting a cook, who succumbed to his injuries at a hospital recently. On July 12, one Prokit Rabha working as a cook in hotel was taken to Civil Hospital by his colleagues who informed that he fell down and later referred to NEIGRIHMS.
Later the victim succumbed to his injuries at NEIGRIHMS on July 17 and the matter was reported to police only after he died. On checking the dead body, police however was not convinced that the person felled and requested relatives to file a formal complaint.
After taking up a regular case, police cracked the case with the arrest of Vicky Chettri (47), another staff of Hotel Pegasus Crown who admitted to having assaulted the victim. Police will also take up the case against all those involved in trying to mislead the police and concealing evidences.-By Our Reporter
