SHILLONG, JULY 14: Three talented young dancers from East Khasi hills have been selected to participate in the reality show – ‘Dance Super Kid’ level-3 audition to be held at Kolkata on July 17. These young dancers include – Kenneth Mawlong (10) from Laban, Chad Michael Kharwanlang (10) from Sohra and Pynshngainlang Kharbuli (9) from Mawlai.
All are students of the Future Dance Academy (FDA) Shillong.
Informing this on Thursday, FDA head teacher Micky Paul L Mawlong said, “The three students have been selected out of 70 children who participated in a recent audition held at the Sri Aurobindo on July 8.”
But he lamented on the lukewarm response of the public representatives when they were approached for financial assistance since most of the students comes from poor family background.
“It is very discouraging as people are yet to understand the value of promoting young talents,” Mawlong said while informing that the FDA requires an amount of Rs 25,000 for the trip to Kolkata.
According to him, it is time that the state government also understands that talents are also a way which can shape the career of young talented youths from the state.
Meanwhile, the FDA appealed to public representatives and dorbar shnongs to lend a helping hand to such children having god-gift talents.-By Our Reporter
