SHILLONG, JULY 1: East Khasi hillls SP special cell intercepted and arrested three people with Rs 1, 43,500/- Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from Lad Smit on Friday at around 12 noon.
East Khasi hills SP M Kharkrang informed that after receiving inputs that FICN was being circulated in Shillong city, he activated the Special Cell in his office and surveillance was strengthened on some suspicious vehicles.
The surveillance paid off as one of the suspicious vehicle was intercepted at Lad Smit with the FICN .
Police arrested Teimon Chyrmang, of East Jaintia hills, Chemi Phawa of Myntdu village in West Jaintia hills and Lorisloma Siangshai of Wapung Skur in East Jaintia hills.
The vehicle with the registration No ML 05 M 3976 used for transportation of the FICN has also been seized.-By Our Reporter
