Shillong, Oct 20: Meghalaya Forest & Environment minister P. Tynsong inaugurated the Lumdewsaw Water Supply Scheme at Lumdewsaw, Mylliem in the presence of RV Lyngdoh, BM Lyndem, executive engineer PHE and R Jala, headman Saturday.
It may be mentioned that the Lumdewsaw Water Supply Scheme sanction under the National Rural Development Water Programme (NRDWP) has been constructed at a total cost of Rs. 62, 39,000. The Water Supply Scheme would cater to the water requirement of 60 households of Lumdewsaw village comprises of two 15 HP centrifugal pumps, water treatment plan and 17 platforms around the village.
Speaking on the occasion, Tynsong underlined the importance of the catchment areas in conserving water sources, he called upon the people of the area to protect and preserve the catchment area for a sustained water source. He urged the people to extend their cooperation with the government for successful implementation of developmental schemes.-By Our Reporter
