SHILLONG, APR 21: The Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) West Khasi Hills unit on Thursday expressed its confidence on the leadership of the party chief Ardent Basaiawmoit and termed the recent allegation as baseless.
“We still have full confidence on the president of the party,” HSPDP legislator from the area D Jyndiang told reporters on Thursday.
His statement followed the recent resignation of members from the Mairang Unit of the party alleging the alleged dictatorial attitude of Basaiawmoit by dissolving the unit.
They have claimed that over 4000 active members and party workers have resigned as they were not happy with the decision of the HSPDP chief who had appointed new office bearers without the consent of majority.
Refuting the allegation, Jyndiang said that the decision taken by central executive committee was for the good of the party in the area.
He further alleged that the people who are making the allegation are actually those which the party had taken action because of their anti-party activities.-By Our Reporter
