Wanlang as Dy chairperson

SHILLONG, FEB 24: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) executive member (EM) in-charge Land, Mines and Mineral Donevan Wanlang is likely to be elected as the new deputy chairman of the council as the post is lying vacant for the past four months.

Wanlang had already tendered his resignation from the EM post before KHADC CEM Pynshngainlang Syiem on February 19.

“I have accepted his (Wanlang) resignation letter to pave the way for him to file the nomination for the post of the council’s deputy chairman,” Syiem told reporters on Wednesday.

He informed that the election to the deputy chairman’s post will be held on March 1, during the upcoming six-day session.-By Our Reporter
