Laitumkhrah exchange

SHILLONG, FEB 1: State urban affairs minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday inaugurated the BSNL’s new telephone exchange of 1000 lines capacity which is commission at the cost of Rs 1.3 crore, at Laitumkhrah.

Also present on the occasion were BSNL NE-1 circle, chief general manager, KK Saxena and state IT commissioner and secretary DP Wahlang.

The exchange shall serve the areas Laitumkhrah police point, Laitumkhrah market area, beat house, Arbuthnot Road, Bhagyakul, New Colony, Lawmawrie, NEEPCO for providing land line, broadband and lease line connection.

With the opening of this new telephone exchange, the customers residing in the areas of Laitumkhrah, will get better broadband and landline services.

During February and March, 2016, the BSNL is providing new landline and broadband connections without any installation charges, officials said.

According to them, customers may avail this offer of BSNL within the two months period besides the BSNL is also providing free night calling from 9 pm to 7 am, to all networks within India from landline telephones.-By Our Reporter
