SHILLONG, OCT 30: Langsing FC registered a 2-1 win over Lajong in a Shillong Premier League encounter held on Friday at the JN stadium helping the team to move up the position in the league as their chances of getting relegated from the top tier was high.
Langsing players played a brilliant game of football to help their team win today’s crucial match.
However, it was Lajong who netted the first goal of the match. The Shillong Premier League table leader who was also the first team to secure a place in the top four of the league, broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Lalrammuana’s shot easily sailed past the keeper from outside the box.
Langning FC came into the game fighting for a place to stay in the league and showed more determination in the second half. The team pressed their chances forward and earned a penalty in the 52nd minute of the match. Henry Marboh converted it from the spot to beat Lajong keeper Vishal Kaith.
Langsning scored their winning goal in the 90+2’ when Victor Shadap was fed the ball by his team mate and made no mistake to
tap in his shot which also gave his side the crucial win.
Defending champion Lajong continues to dominate the top position in the table with 27 points. The Reds will face Malki on November 6.- By Our Reporter
