TURA, AUG 11: A 15-year-old girl was rescued last night after a woman had allegedly abducted and confined her for 24 days at a locality in Tura. The girl was also forced to drink and was sexually exploited.
The abductor has been identified as 38-year-old woman i Jinjin D. Shira who had allegedly abducted the girl from a locality on July 17. The girl after being rescued by her parents said that she was lured by Jinjin and later sexually exploited.
The victim after being rescued said, “I was forced to drink and have sex with multiple partners everyday”.
The victim’s family told media persons that their daughter was taken to different localities within Tura town every day and was left alone with men, who exploited her physically.
“When she did not return home till late in the evening on July 17, we searched her in the locality and informed our relatives. Left with no other option, we filed a missing report at Tura police station”, the victim’s family said.
A case was filed by the Tura women police station.
After days of search, the family members learnt that their daughter was spotted with Jinjin and they decided to play a ploy to trap and rescue their daughter.
The family members told that they had prior information of the deeds of Jinjin so they decided to take a different course.
“We opened a fake account in facebook as a young boy and started our conversation with Jinjin. We started our talks on whether she can provide any girls. She told that she has a young girl and agreed that on payment will be allowed to spent night with the girl”, a family member said.
“After days of conversation, Jinjin told us that she can bring the girl to a locality in Tura. We asked her to bring the girl and later rescued her yesterday evening”,the victim’s father said.
The family caught Jinjin and she was taken for a meeting with the victim’s clan members. At the meeting held at the victim’s residence, Jinjin confessed to have sexually exploited the minor.
She was handed over to police last night.
Police have registered a case under section 66A, 342, 368/34 of IPC for wrongful confinement and kidnapping. The case is being handled by Tura women police cell.
On sexual charges, SP Mukesh Singh said, “We have put section based on the FIR which was filed earlier by the family. We will record detail statement of the victim and their family and put appropriate section”.
The accused was produced in the court on Tuesday and sent to seven days police remand.- From Our Correspondent
